LESLIE PORTER - Ireland's Pioneer Racing Driver

LESLIE PORTER - Ireland's Pioneer Racing Driver

Leslie Porter became Ireland's Pioneer Racing Driver when he competed in the Paris to Madrid motor race of 1903. Sadly, that race ended in tragedy. Several years later he returned to motor racing in the famous Tourist Trophy 'Four Inch' race. With the onset of the Great War he joined the Royal Flying Corps and was tragically lost in 1916.
